Farewell Billy the Kid Bill Musset (Billy The Kid) 31-05-1955 / 16-10-2008 Rest in Peace I will state from the start that i did not know Bill Musset (Billy the Kid) well, i had only met him on a couple of occasions , but after attending his funeral service i had cause to reflect not only on my own life but the condition of mankind in general , from the reminisces of those at the service who had known Bill , he was an honest , hard working man , who loved his wife Michelle , his friends , Hot Rodding , enjoyed a drink and life in general, Judging by the number of people who attended bills service and the warmth and goodwill of those present it is plain to see that Bills simple optimistic approach to life paid of in spades. Some Philosophers say that a mans greatness is judged by the stature of his enemies (no thanks) . These days or so we are led to believe a mans greatness is judged by his wealth, but how can this be true when grasping politicians and greedy businessmen rape and plunder our society, throwing average people to the wolves of the free market economy while they sit atop their ivory towers wailing to all who will listen about how tough it is to get by on their six figure salaries, and demanding that those same battlers whom they treat with contempt bail out their ill run companies (with tax payers money) to save them from financial ruin. As i said in the beginning i reflected on my own life and found that i was not perfect , i am sometimes quick to judge others and sometimes i want more than i have, but these and other things i shall work to change , for i have a loving wife and wonderful children a roof over my head and bread on the table. True happiness comes when we accept ourselves , believe in and cherish the simple things in life . There is no doubt that bill will be missed and that the hot rodding community has lost a good man. Thank you Bill for giving me cause to reflect. In Taoism there is a saying, If you cannot find it within yourself where will you go for it . Cheers Peter. more... http://www.roadnoize.com/modules/article/view.article.php/c7/21
